For the Swiss Art Expo 2021 I have decided to exhibit the series of nine paintings that I have entitled ‘the Chinoiseries’.
This series was inspired by my love for the aestheticism of Chinese calligraphy, Asian arts, Zen. I wanted to transpose certain graphic elements in acrylic in larger formats. For a less smooth appearance, I chose to paint them on canvases covered with a plaster mass which gives this somewhat mineral aspect to the background. White, black, minimalism are a stylistic bias for a sober, elegant and serene visual.
